Bina Nusantara University Student Activities - In the midst of attending, student at Bina Nusantara University (Binus) still managed to take time out of hours activities in college. Students synonymous with the young and dynamic, then so did the students Binus dynamic and not to be outdone by students from other universities.

Pioneering establishment Bina Nusantara University was started in 1974. Starting from a place called Modern computer courses Computer Course, six years later (1981), where the computer course has been transformed into an Academy of Computer Engineering (ATK). In 1984, the name began to be used as the Bina Nusantara ATK changes to AMIK (Academy of Information Management and Computer) Bina Nusantara. August 8, 1996, Bina Nusantara University was officially established. University of standing is a fusion AMIK Binus with STIMIK Binus.

In 2012, Bina Nusantara University has had 27 one degree course (spread over 4 schools and 3 faculties), 6 double degree course (dual degree), 13 graduate courses (12 courses strata two and 1 doctoral study programs) . Yet the program is also coupled with a total of 11 international studies and 4 courses remotely.

With the number of courses so much that, no doubt Binus sizeable number of students. In 2012, the number about 12,500 active students. Such a large number of students spread over five campus locations, the Campus Orchid (Kebon Jeruk, West Jakarta), Campus Syahdan (Palmerah, West Jakarta), Campus Deer (Kemanggisan, West Jakarta), Campus Alam Sutera (Tangerang), and JWC Campus (Senayan, South Jakarta).

Special Interest Bina Nusantara Computer Club (BNCC) is one unit with a special interest in student activities on the computer. BNCC established in 1989, while still a AMIK Binus. Student activities at BNCC exemplary. On February 27 until May 3, 2012, BNCC held a Charity BNCC For Solid Edicationn (Barcode).

The main objective of this activity is to help street children in Jakarta. The series of events held in the form of seminars by Dasen Waringin Tung, one of the national motivator, talk show on Social Care, electronic exhibits, and the most exciting is the electronic auction. Various electronics, especially computer equipment, in an open auction.

All profits from this event was donated to the Spirit of Conscience Foundation, a foundation that provides assistance and education to street children in Jakarta. Barcode activities do not stop at the campus alone. The Bina Nusantara University student who joined in the plunge BNCC provide computer training to street children. Through a brief workshop, street children are cared for by Conscience Foundation Spirit given basic computer training.

Scuba training activities lasted two days, 3 to March 4, 2012. Besides Barcode, BNCC held a Competition for The New Era of Technology in 2011. The competition is divided into two categories, namely category concept that is intended for high school students and equal, and the categories of applications that are intended for the public. Culture and Arts Penetration Japanese culture through film, animation, comics to participate responded by Bina Nusantara University student. Some of them form a community of lovers of Japanese culture. They named this community Nippon Club. Nippon Club did not want to be stuck only on collecting craze Americanized Japanese trinkets. Therefore, various activities are held to enhance organizational skills and increased creativity.

Concrete activities of the Nippon Club, among others, the workshop making origami (the art of paper folding), shodo (Japanese calligraphy), to the training of Japanese language. In 2010, the Nippon Club and the Association of Architecture Students (Himars) Bina Nusantara University held a Japanese Architecture & Art Festival - JAAF (Nihon no Geijutsu to Kenchiku).


This activity lasted nearly a week. The objective of the JAAF is to showcase Japanese culture and architecture and is expected to be a means to add insight and education.

In terms of architecture, this event focused on the understanding of Japanese architectural knowledge. JAAF supporting activities, such as race cosplay (costume players, animated or manga character costume), race iGo (Japanese chess), onigi eating contest (typical Japanese food), competition photography architecture, modern house sketch contest, competition Contemporary Tea House, to exhibit the work of architecture student at Bina Nusantara University.

One race that is quite interesting is the cosplay competition. Competitors are required to wear clothing / costume like character animation or Japanese manga. Contemporay Tea House Competition is an activity that is also quite interesting in JAAF 2010. The competition was attended by participants from various universities in Indonesia. The competition is in the form of creation of modern tea house. The work of the participants should be realized in the maket with a ratio of 1:1 (according to the original size) and made from recycled materials.

Unit of student activities at the University of Bina archipelago with cultural themes not only Nippon Club. There Bina Nusantara Mandarin Club (BNMC). BNMC activities are regularly held are learning mandarin class. In addition to language, the mandarin class, BNMC also gives lessons mandarin oriental culture. Classes are divided into several levels from beginner / advanced beginner class where participants to communicate in mandarin.

Major events ever held by BNMC is Taste Of Uniqueness In Chinese Art And Culture (TOUCH). TOUCH held in March 2010 and the theme of "Let's Feel the Oriental Sensation Together". The series of events held in TOUCH, including Chinese calligraphy workshop, mochi cake eating contest, to attractions such as Chinese cultural performances wushu (presented by SMEs Wushu), gu zheng zither games, and fashion shows.

In 2011, BNMC from Bina Nusantara University held the Latern Festival. Latern Festival activities theme is "See the Light, Feel the Hope". Events in the Latern Festival, among other dumplings eating contest, Orientalgenic Photo Competition (photo competition in the fashion Mandarin), and Voice of Mandarin (singing competition Mandarin songs). In Latern Festival, BNMC record-breaking action in the form of lantern-making zhong guo jie 2562 / craft art rigging China. The record was recorded by the Indonesian World Record Museum (MURI).

A few years earlier, had also organized BNMC China Town Festival in 2006. Events held at Bina Nusantara University Campus Orchid. The purpose of this event is to recognize and encourage interest in learning Mandarin. Bina Nusantara University students also have kretivitas in music. Studio Jams is an event organized by Bina Nusantara Band SMEs and Binus Square Student Committee.

The peak activity Binus Studio Jazz Jams are held the event in May. Although the activities held by the simple, open parking area universities, but the show is quite attractive. Binus Jazz featuring beberpa musicians mainly from the band who joined the band Binus SMEs.

For the Physical and Spiritual freshness in sport, students held a competition routine Binus. In March 2012, the SME Badminton Badminton Cup held Binus to-6. This activity is intended for SMEs Badminton from universities across Indonesia. The numbers are the numbers contested teams and individuals, both men and women.

Besides badminton, there are few sports-based SMEs in Binus. Among other SME Basketball, Football, Volleyball, Table Tennis, Lawn Tennis, by Pool. There is also a martial arts gym, the Education White Stork, White Pigeon, Wushu, Karate and Aikido.


Bina Nusantara University also accommodate various fields of spirituality. In the spiritual realm, there are students like Student Family unit Buddhist Dhammavaddhana (KMBD), Hindu Student Family (KMH), Family Catholic Students (KMK), Assembly Ta Lim (MT), Ecumenical Association (PO), and the Family Students of Confucius (KBMK).

The unit is more student activities coordinate religious activities on the big day celebrations of each religion. However, this activity is still important, especially to help provide spiritual needs that students should not get stressed and more able to focus in the face lectures.

There are many activities organized by the students of the University of Bina Nusantara. There is still a case of Swanarapala activities (student Bina Nusantara Nature Lover), Klifonara (Photography Lovers Club Bina Nusantara), Paramabira (Student Choir Bina Nusantara), ST Sweet (Theatre Arts student Bina Nusantara), Stamanara (Student Dance Bina Nusantara). Activities beyond compulsory school activities are needed to train students organize and communications between people.
